Each one of us is sensitive; each one of us is different; and each one of us is constantly variable —our mood and temperament change from day to day, may be even from hour to hour. And yet, we have evolved into a society, into a community, into a global habitat with families, institutions and corporations.

This has been possible with time, a growing sense of awareness, and a great deal of understanding, tolerance, sympathy and mutual respect. We grew and evolved as a species because our great achievers took criticism in the right spirit.

Constructive criticism actually helps us to improve ourselves and become higher achievers and better human beings. If we accept criticism in the right spirit and look at things with a new and positive perspective, we will benefit immensely. Can we avoid criticism?

Yes. According to Aristotle, we can avoid criticism by saying nothing, doing nothing and being nothing. How many of us would like to take on a life of nothingness? To err, as the saying goes, is after all human. The way in which you handle criticism is an important indicator of your maturity and poise as a human being.
