In the same way that three people in the same room do not see the same room, what I write now about understanding will not be the same understanding you have of what I’ve understood about understanding.
Any topic we understand will not be understood exactly as we understand it by another person. Even when we agree with what another person understands, such agreement is not based on an equal understanding so much as it is an agreed acceptance that an absence of equal understanding is sufficient to understand that agreement is necessary for individual well-being and the growth and maintenance of social order.
