1. PRESENT-MOMENT AWARENESS
_When practicing Vipassana, present-moment awareness becomes established & continuous. _ And when it does, the awakening factor of present-moment awareness is aroused. _Then the practitioner cultivates the awakening factor of present-moment awareness. _ Cultivating it, the awakening factor of present-moment awareness is brought to fulfi llment.
2. INVESTIGATION OF QUALITIES
_The practitioner examines and investigates each mental quality with insight & undertakes a thorough inquiry into it. _Doing so, the awakening factor of investigation into qualities is aroused. _The practitioner cultivates it into qualities. _ Cultivating it, the awakening factor of investigation into qualities is brought to fulfillment.
3. ENERGY
_The practitioner who examines & investigates each phenomenon with insight and undertakes a thorough inquiry into it, invigorating energy is aroused. _At this moment, the awakening factor of energy is manifested. _So manifested, the practitioner cultivates the awakening factor of energy. Cultivating it, the awakening factor of energy is brought to fulfillment.
4. DELIGHT
_The practitioner who has aroused invigorating energy, there is born unfleshly delight. _At this moment, the awakening factor of delight is manifested. So manifested, the practitioner cultivates the awakening factor of delight. _ Cultivating it, the awakening factor of delight is brought to fulfi llment.
5. TRANQUILITY
_For the practitioner who has aroused delight, the body is quiet, and the mind is quiet. _At this moment, the awakening factor of tranquility is aroused. So aroused, the practitioner cultivates the awakening factor of tranquility. _ Cultivating it, the awakening factor of tranquility is brought to fulfillment."
6. CONCENTRATION
_For the practitioner whose body is calm and who is at ease, the mind becomes concentrated. _At this moment, the awakening factor of concentration is aroused. _So aroused, the practitioner cultivates the awakening factor of concentration. _Cultivating it, the awakening factor of concentration is brought to fulfillment."
7. EQUANIMITY
_With his mind concentrated in this way, the practitioner becomes a person who observes with thoroughgoing care and equanimity. _At this moment, the awakening factor of equanimity is aroused. So aroused, the practitioner cultivates the awakening factor of equanimity.
7. EQUANIMITY
