Kalki Jayanti will be celebrated on August 3rd and August 23rd this year.

Let’s understand the story of Lord Kalki in detail.

Significance

The reason behind celebrating Kalki Jayanti is to praise God and invite him to incarnate soon. So that the sins happening in the universe can be eradicated as soon as possible and the devotees should be relieved from the problem.

According to the scriptures, the Kalyug is existing in the present and it is said that by the end of the Kalyug, humankind will exist for sixteen years, while the sins will increase a lot in the Kali Yuga. The Kali Yuga will oppress people through its art and will force religion to bow down. Whenever there is loss of religion, humankind will suffer. So God must descend on earth to protect it.

Kalki Jayanti was first started about 300 years ago. This birth anniversary was first started by a saint, Mavji, of Rajasthan. Lord Vishnu, Krishna as well as Kalki avatar are also worshiped on this Jayanti. There is also a big temple of Kalki in the Jaipur province of Rajasthan and on this day, Bhandara (community kitchen), is done after the worship.

Form

As the specialty of this avatar of Lord Vishnu, Kalki will ride on a white horse and the horse will be seen in a moving position. He will have a divine sword in his hand and will be fair in complexion and will ride on a white horse wearing yellow clothes. There are also some beliefs about Kalki Avatar that when the horse behind Mata Kali is seen slowly coming on the ground, the day it will come on the ground, it will be the right time for the Kalki or Vishnu Avatar.

Method of Worship

It is said that the vehicle of Lord Kalki will be a white colored horse, whose name will be Devadatta. He will put an end to the sinners riding on a horse and will re-establish dharma. Lord Kalki will give knowledge to the devotees to walk on the right path and will end the hypocrisy spread everywhere in the name of religion. Very auspicious yogas are being made on Kalki Jayanti, in these auspicious yogas one should worship Lord Vishnu and recite Vishnu Sahasranama. Also, keep fast on the day of Kalki Jayanti and donate and provide food to the poor and needy

Celebration

During the festival, the devotees wake up early in the morning, take a bath before sunrise, fast and recite the Vishnu Stotram, either in the temple or at home. At home, they recite the Narayana Mantra and other mantras 108 times.
