Religion is the assassin of spirituality

When we are born we get life along with the soul that should give direction in life. The sensibility of the soul, like that of all other particles and forms of life, are conditioned by the System that manages life on this planet. It is the same System that manages the infinite Universe. Those who realized the implications of this System called it the Truth. Zoroaster, Buddha, Christ, and Mohammad belonged to this group. The ancient Chinese called it the Tao that meant the Way of the Ultimate Reality. The sensibility of the soul is the expression of spirituality, and the products of our reasoning are impediments to the retaining of the sensibility of the soul which really is spirituality. Buddha said "Reasoning is related to attachment. When attachment arises, wisdom is shut out." (p. 202, The Teachings of The Compassionate Buddha, by E.A. Burtt) "We should never identify ourselves with reason, for man is not and never will be a creature of reason alone, a fact to be noted by all pedantic culture-mongers." (Two Essays on Analytical Psychology,  The Collected Works of C.G. Jung, Vol. 7, by C.G. Jung, Gerhard Adler, R.F.C. Hull)

All these religions that have confiscated the sensibility of the soul are not helpful in the realization of the soul. The sensibility of the soul can be realized by transcending the sensibilities of the senses that control our reasoning. All those who reacted against the foul religious practices were helped by meditation to realize the soul. By brining ghee, chanting slokas, by wearing white dress, by burning incence we cannot express spirituality. There is only one thing that is sacred in the world and that is the System that controls life. Truth is the System, and thus Truth is God. Sankara says: "Logs of wood may be heaped mountain high, and be ignited. The resulting fire cannot contribute to the light of the Sun. It is the same with rituals also. In the proximity of knowledge, even a thousand crores of rituals would be of no avail." (Verse 187 ‘Sarva Vedanta Siddhanta Sarasangraha’, tr. by Swami Tattwananda, Sri Ramakrishna Advaita Ashram, Kalady) Reject the religious practices and regain the sensibility of the soul that religions have banished. This is the only way to regain sanity in this World.
