Question: You teach a form of meditation and you call your organization the Science of spirituality. What's the connection between science and spirituality?
Sant Rajinder Singh Ji: We live in an age which is very scientific. We're not living in an age where people believe things because of blind faith. In this day and age, whatever we believe in, we need to experience. We call our organization the Science of Spirituality because we feel that spirituality also has a scientific bearing. We do not want to believe unless we experience something, unless we can have a verifiable experience.
Question: So the method of science is experimentation, and the method of spirituality is also experimentation?
Sant Rajinder Singh Ji: The method of spirituality or the method by which we can really know ourselves is an experiment. It is an experiment where we rise above physical body‑consciousness. It is an experiment which can be repeated and which gives us known results when performed consistently and accurately. And that is what science does. We have an experiment, and we get the results that have been shown to us. And spirituality is verifiable by an experimental method.
Question: It's verifiable?
Sant Rajinder Singh Ji: It is verifiable. We use the human body as a laboratory. You know, when we learn physics or chemistry, we go to a lab and we do experiments. We might put some acid in a tube and have some colored fumes come out. We know what kind of fumes and colors to look for based on what our teacher told us. Similarly, when we meditate, we are able to go within. We are able to experience divine Lights and hear melodious Music within ourselves. So to us this human body is a laboratory in which we experiment to find our real self, to find our soul, to know who we really are.
