India is a land of varied cultures and tastes. So from poori-sabji to lip smacking ladoos or the yummy halwa, there is so much that is served as prasad in Indian temples. But have you ever heard of the Chinese delicacy noodles and chopsuey being served as prasad? Surprised? Don't be. This Chinese temple in Kolkata, serves as the perfect cultural harmony between the Indians and the Chinese living there. On Kali Puja day, people from both the communities get together for the well being of their people. The story behind this temple is an interesting one. Once a 10-year-old Chinese boy who was terminally ill was brought to the temple after no medication could cure him. The boy, after visiting the temple started getting better and since then, this temple has been regarded as a holy one for the Chinese community in Kolkata.
