There is love and then there is selfless love. While not all of us might be lucky to find the latter but this is one-in-a-million lucky man. Gaurav Sethi made a promise to himself three years back - of buying himself a Harley Davidson bike on December 11th 2015 – little did he know that his wife (then girlfriend) would secretly work towards achieving his goal, buy saving up money – for three long years.
The story goes like this - Back in 2012, during a party at her then boyfriend Gaurav Sethi's place, Akhilee Matta discovered his dreams inside of his wardrobe in the form of two posters that read, "25th August 2012: CS Gaurav Sethi" and "11th December 2015: Harley-Davidson Iron 883". When questioned, Gaurav told her that by writing all this down, he is more likely to achieve it.
And sure enough, come 25th August 2012, Gaurav called his girlfriend to tell her that he had cleared his Company Secretary exams.
When she asked him about his other dream - the Harley, he only said, "I have no idea but my next focus is to get married to you." And they did!
What Gaurav didn't know, was that the day he proposed to Akhilee, his wife made the resolve to start saving enough to make her husband's other dream come true.
A Corporate Communication professional, Akhilee says it was not an easy journey ahead. She said that it pinched a wallet everytime she had to save some money and today, she says he has zero savings. – however everything has been worth it, she says.
And when the date arrived, a blind-folded Gaurav was led to the Harley Davidson showroom The lovely wife even had the entire surprise captured on camera. The much-in-love also recently whisked off on a road trip to Rajasthan on their brand new prized possession!
