SWAMI TEJOMAYANANDA Swami Tejomayananda, fondly referred to as Pujya Guruji in Chinmaya Mission circles, has travelled a long, long way in his spiritual journey. Inspired by Pujya Gurudev, Swami Chinmayananda\u2019s talks on the Bhagavad Gita, at the age of 20, a year away from getting his Master's degree in Physics, he sought the permission of his mother to join Chinmaya Mission's residential Vedanta course at Sandeepany Sadhanalaya in Mumbai. With Swami Chinmayananda\u2019s Mahasamadhi in August 1993, the mantle of leadership draped his gentle shoulders. For 23 years thereafter, Swami Tejomayananda successfully led and managed Chinmaya Mission Worldwide, a widely respected global, spiritual organisation. When asked how he managed over 300 centres across the globe\u2026multifarious activities\u2026a variety of projects\u2026thousands of workers\u2026diverse cultures\u2026in different countries, he replied, \u201cThe truth is that I do not run it. I allow it to run itself. Only if people ask me for advice, do I tell them anything, otherwise I just allow things to happen.\u201d In January 2017 Swami Tejomayananda anointed Swami Swaroopananda as Global Head. Swami Tejomayananda continues to spread the message of our scriptures through gyana yagnas, seminars and spiritual camps. A versatile speaker, he discources on the Upanisahds, Bhagavad Gita, Brahma Sutras, Ramayana, Shirmad Bhagavat and other topics of interest to inspire different segments of society. Equally at ease in all forums, his humility, gentle temperament and ready wit endear him to audiences across the board. His genius lies in being able to adroitly combine the knowledge of Vedanta with the ideals of bhakti and more importantly he is a living example of those ideals.
