People try pursuing happiness and peace in many directions. Some think they could find happiness in amassing wealth, possessions, and new technological inventions, or in gaining positions of power and achieving name and fame.Yet, if we look at the lives of people who attained these,we often find they are unhappy.Worldly desires and sensuous pleasures settle like dust on the pure soul. Afteraeons of coming and going in the world, our soul has become so covered with the pollution of worldly impressions that we cannot recognize it.

Still, at one time or another we develop a spiritual thirst to understand our purpose in life and the nature of our existence. Some people raise these questions but later bury them as they become caught up in the drama of their daily lives. Our quest for answers may resurface briefly during a time of pain, suffering, or loss but is quickly forgotten as we resume our daily preoccupations.

Yet there are fortunate souls who experience an awakening. They realize a spiritual significance to life.
They have an unquenchable thirst for spirituality and do not wait until the end of their lives to seek answers. They want answers now. They cannot rest until they experience for themselves the divine nature of their soul. They seek to experience realms beyond this physical world.

The innate desire for immortality moves these souls to solve the mystery of life and death. When the questions of our purpose in life and what happens after death arise within, a spiritual spark is ignited. We cannot rest until we find the answers. A sincere cry issues forth from deep within, and we pray to the Lord for help. No matter what name a person uses for that power, whether God, Parmatma , Wah-e-Guru, Allah, Brahm, or Sat Purush, people want to know how to find it.
